UI/UX Web Designer

Vode Lighting

Nov 2023 - Aug 2024

As a UI/UX Web Designer, my mission was to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for websites and web applications. My role combined elements of both design and user experience to enhance the overall usability and satisfaction of users interacting with digital products. I also collaborated with cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-quality web experiences and was dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that redefine user experiences.

The majority of my UX design experience came from working on Vode’s website redesign. I had the privilege of collaborating with an amazing web design team and gained an insider's view of how their website platform operated. This understanding of how a website functions allowed me to effectively communicate with Vode’s teams, guiding them on which features and functions were possible and how they could support and enhance Vode's mission and vision. The website also now reflects Vode's brand—minimal and elegant, just like the lights they design.

I invite you to explore Vode's website, as it is now a part of my portfolio.

Visual Designer

Feb 2020 - Nov 2023

At Vode Lighting, I created and maintained spec sheets, technical sheets, photometric files, installation instructions, and brochures. I also created templates for standard documents to maintain a consistent, clean, and cohesive brand identity.

Working in the marketing department has created opportunities for cross-departmental work and being able to be a part of multiple product launches. By working closely with departments such as engineering, business systems, and sales, I was able to get a better understanding of their work style and listen to any feedback they may have regards to our website to better improve the users experience.

Organized construction documents, creating digital files for Architects, Engineers, and Planners. Took a 300 square foot room chock full of drawings from 1899 to the present and created an organized digital database for easy access. Work involved carefully inspecting every drawing, determining the final version, shipping drawings to get scanned, and designed digital naming conventions. The final step was to load the scanned drawings into the database. Throughout this process, we created a log book to track outgoing and incoming scans.
